This is the fifth solo release for Jim Adkins and the second release on the Clear Image Label. This cd is packed full of melody,groove and pristine playing that Jim is known for. It features ten new recordings, nine original and one cover.The cd starts with the title track "City Streets" and features well known trumpeter and producer Bill McGee.The second track is the radio hit "Lost In The Moment", a very clean and memorable melody with a hook that will stay in your head. Jim also covers the great Al Green tune "Lets Stay Together" and features a great piano solo by Lee Covington. The cd also features keyboardist and long time friend Greg Terry who co-wrote two songs with Jim. The other musicians include Matthew Steele-bass, Chris McHugh-drums, Eric Darken-percussion, Rosshan Monroe-sax, and Cham Laughlin, all of which turned in great performances.

Jim is an award winning songwriter/guitarist from the central Va. Area. He has won awards in jazz, intrumental composition and gospel. His most notable award was the 1999 BILLBOARD SONG CONTEST winner for second place in jazz out of over ten thousands entries for the song "Wind Dancing" off his first cd titled "Just Chillin".He also earned an honorable mention for his song "Watching You Smile" from his second cd "Straight Ahead" He has also won nine awards in V.O.C.A.L. (Virginia Organization for Composers and Lyricist) Jims third cd "Turning Point" earned him a hit in the top forty of the smooth jazz charts with the song "Into The Storm". The cd was recorded and produced by Ken Navarro and released on the Positive Music Label. In 2004 Jim founded Clear Image Records and released his fourth cd " License To Play" on the label. The cd received lots of airplay and sold records in over ten countries! His latest cd " City Streets" was released in April of 2008. Check back to see how it goes.

Jim is an award winning songwriter/guitarist. His most notable award was placing 2nd in the International BILLBOARD SONG CONTEST in jazz. He also won nine awards for compositions in a Va. based contest V.O.C.A.L. Starting out as a rock style guitarist, his love for smooth jazz developed later when he heard guitarists such as Larry Carlton, Lee Rittenour and George Benson just to name a few. Since then he has been on a musical path releasing three cds in that genre. His guitar style is evident of rock, country, pop and jazz.
